For almost 20 years, cycling has been "my" sport. Before that, I played football, tennis and spent a lot of time in the mountains with my parents - skiing in winter and hiking in summer. Especially with my dad, I did an incredible number of beautiful mountain hikes "at home" in the Totes Gebirge - of course, I also informed myself about the highest mountains in the world and in Austria - since then I absolutely wanted to stand on the Grossglockner one day!
Yesterday it finally happened - at 01:30 in the morning our alarm clock rang in the Lucknerhütte (2241m), we got dressed and after a small breakfast we started at 02:15. At that time there was still really strong wind outside and I thought to myself: maybe my idea with the sunrise wasn't so good after all....
4 hours later, the reward finally came - together with my mountain guide Franz, we stood 5 minutes before sunrise without wind on the summit of Austria's highest mountain, the Grossglockner (3798m). I will never forget the peace, the view and the happy hormones up there.
THANK YOU Franz for these two brilliant days on the mountain - THANK YOU for taking great care of me, I always felt safe!!
Sporty greetings Lukas
