312 kilometers and 4,400 meters of elevation on Mallorca
Lukas Kaufmann, an endurance athlete from Kronsdorf, Upper Austria, completed the MALLORCA312 race last Saturday, finishing 30th out of more than 8,000 starters. The father of two covered the 312-kilometer route with approximately 4,400 meters of elevation through various regions of the island of Mallorca.
The amateur race is considered demanding, especially due to the long distance and numerous climbs. Kaufmann managed to complete the route as planned and placed well within the large field of participants.
"It was a long day on the bike. The route is challenging, but well-organized, and thanks to Franz's support, I was able to complete the race perfectly," said Kaufmann after the race.
Kaufmann was supported by Franz Steinberger, the former director of the Tour of Austria. During the race, he provided support and supplied Kaufmann with provisions at three different points along the route.
The MALLORCA312 is one of the well-known long-distance races in the cycling calendar and annually attracts participants from many countries.
