METAPLAN Charity Race + KING OF THE LAKE – Lukas Kaufmann

On Friday at 10 AM, Lukas Kaufmann started the METAPLAN Charity Race in Ebensee.
From the Feuerkogelbahn valley station, participants either walked or cycled up to the Feuerkogel. Kevin Leonhartsberger, a long-time and wonderful sponsor of his, managed to motivate an incredible number of partner companies to participate themselves and also to donate – thus, 20,000 Euros could be handed over for a good cause.
This will enable children to actively participate in school life, even if they have to stay at home due to illness! He needed 75 minutes for the 15-kilometer route with 1,200 meters of elevation gain – the weather and the view at the top of Feuerkogel were a dream!

A day later, Luki started the KING OF THE LAKE for the second time – the 47.2-kilometer route with 280 meters of elevation gain around Lake Attersee. This time he wanted to complete it in under an hour. However, his legs didn't cooperate, and so he needed exactly 63 minutes for the lap around the lake – hopefully, there will be another chance next year. The entire race track is closed to car traffic, and there's a great atmosphere in the fan zones – congratulations to the organizers!

Yesterday, his club ARBÖ ASKÖ RC LINZ's home race, the Cross Country at Roadlberg, finally took place. Since he hadn't been on a mountain bike even ten times this year, the technically challenging course was super demanding for him – and he's overjoyed to have reached the finish line without a fall. 🙂

Next weekend he'll tackle the LOSER mountain time trial, and then the 2025 racing season will already be over.
