In the junior class, Luca Stepins achieved an excellent 13th place on the technically very demanding and extremely unrhythmic course. In the U23 race, Florian Fink and Niklas Scherer each hoped for a place among the TOP 15. Florian was then super satisfied with 12th place, Niklas achieved a respectable result with 22nd place, but it was not quite the result he had hoped for. In the men’s elite race, Tobias Steinhart once again showed that he is one of the best German cross-country riders with 9th place. Gabriel Sindlinger reached rank 24 after a strong start to the race, which surely also had to do with a cold he had just recovered from.
Overall, we are completely satisfied with all the results. Certainly, there was hope for a few places further ahead at one point or another, but all in all we can talk about a successful German championship” – this is the summary of the trainer and head of Team Dowe Simplon of the RSG Zollern-Alb Bernhard Mast-Sindlinger after the races of the German MTB championship in Bad Salzdetfurth (Lower Saxony).
